How to Find Your Ring Size at Home

You can find your ring size at home in a few minutes. Measuring a ring that already fits is the most accurate way. No ring handy? Use our printable sizer, or a piece of string or paper.

Three ways to measure

1. Choose a ring that fits the finger you're buying for. A thin, round band works best.
2. Measure straight across the inside of the ring, edge to edge, in millimeters.
3. Find that number in the Diameter column of the chart below.

1. Print at 100% or "Actual size". Do not use "Fit to page".
2. Check the print: a standard credit card should match the card line on the sheet. If it doesn't, the sizes will be off, so adjust your print settings and try again.
3. Lay a ring that fits on the circles. Your size is the circle whose line sits right at the ring's inside edge.

The sheet also has a millimeter ruler you can use for the other two methods.

3. Use string or a strip of paper

1. Wrap non-stretchy string or a thin strip of paper around the base of your finger. It should be snug but still slide over your knuckle.
2. Mark where it overlaps, lay it flat, and measure to the mark in millimeters.
3. Find that number in the Around the Finger column of the chart below.
4. Repeat 2 or 3 times. This method is the least exact, so go by the size that comes up most often.

Tips for the right fit

• Measure when your hands are warm, ideally at the end of the day. Fingers shrink in the cold and swell in the heat.
• Measure the exact finger, on the hand you'll wear it on. Sizes can differ from finger to finger and hand to hand.
• Between two sizes? Choose the larger one.
• Wide band? Bands 6 mm and wider fit snugger, so go up a quarter to half size.
• Larger knuckle? Measure the base and the knuckle, then choose a size between the two that still slides over the knuckle.
• Want to be certain? Any local jeweler can measure your finger, usually in a few minutes.

• No size choices shown: in your cart, type your size in the "Ring size, chain length, or special requests" box, for example "Ring size 7".
• The price shown is for the listed size. A larger size costs more because it uses more gold. We'll confirm that your size is possible and the exact cost.
• Sized rings are final sale, so please measure carefully. If a ring arrives damaged or we sized it incorrectly, we'll fix it at our cost.
• Not every ring can be made in every size. If we can't make yours, we'll offer the closest available size or a full refund.
